This focused issue on “Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Program in General Surgery” is edited by Dr. Chris Jones, Royal Surrey County Hospital, UCL, London, UK, and Dr. Chuangqi Chen from Center of Gastrointestinal Surgery, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China, with Dr. Xuefu Zhou, from Center for Digestive Disease, Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Shenzhen, China being the Assistant Guest Editor.

Dr. Jones has been a consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2013 with responsibility for the high-risk fellowships, and medical student anaesthesia attachments. He has an interest and anaesthesia for major oncology surgery including HPB, OG and major urology.

Dr. Chen once pursued his further studies and research at University of Pennsylvania in United States. He is a specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and surgical nutrition support.
